Polyglykol® 400 by Clariant is an APEO-free, polyethylene glycol-based humectant. It is used in water-based and solvent-borne alkyd end-use pigment preparations. It retards the drying of pigment pastes and forms a soluble film of the pigment preparation. This product prevents the formation of skin or lumps on the surface of the dispersion. The recommended dosage of Polyglykol® 400 for point-of-sales colorants and in-plant titters is 4-8% and 6-10% respectively.
